Booking and Payment Options
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Gateshead office. A deposit might be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment along with a security deposit is generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are displayed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, with transactions processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pick-Up and Drop-Off
- At the time of collection, you are required to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be generated and both parties must sign it. It is your responsibility to return the vehicle in the same condition as it was received, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and fees will be applied accordingly. Please return the vehicle with the same fuel level as it had at the start of your rental; refueling charges will apply if it is returned with less fuel. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please inform us as soon as possible if you expect to be late. You will be liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms

Additional insurance options may be available to help limit your financial exposure. Please review these options thoroughly. You will be accountable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless you opt for additional coverage. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance provisions.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Please be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up could incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities, including racing, rallying, or off-roading. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized drivers is not permitted. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Ensure the vehicle is used within its intended purpose, and do not exceed passenger or weight limits. Driving outside of the approved geographical area requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Limitation of Responsibility
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire in Gateshead will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the amount paid for the rental in the previous 12 months.
